Aside from Brazilian-born Spanish player Felipe Perrone [ 3] (who won six medals), Serbian player Slobodan Nikić [ 2] and Spanish player Blai Mallarach [ 4] (who won five medals each), all others were members of the Croatia men's national water polo team . Andro Bušlje is the first and only athlete (man or woman) to win seven medals in water polo at the World Aquatics Championships (two gold, one silver and four bronze).[ 5]
