District 52 of the Oregon House of Representatives is one of 60 House legislative districts in the state of Oregon. As of 2021, the boundary for the district contains all of Hood River County and portions of Clackamas, Multnomah, and Wasco counties. The district includes the population centers of Hood River and The Dalles as well as Mt. Hood. The current representative for the district is RepublicanJeff Helfrich of Hood River.[1][2] This is Helfrich's second stint representing this district in the state legislature after being appointed to the office in 2017 but losing re-election.
Election results
District boundaries have changed over time. Therefore, representatives before 2021 may not represent the same constituency as today. General election results from 1990 to present[3][4] are as follows:
^Patti Smith was the incumbent in this election. She previously represented District 56, but was moved to this district due to redistricting following the 2000 United States census.[5]
^Jeff Helfrich was the incumbent in this election. He was appointed to this seat on November 29, 2017 to replace Mark Johnson, who resigned from office when he was appointed President and CEO of Oregon Business and Industry.[6][7][8][9][10][11]
