Richard "Rich" Costey is an American music producer, mixer , and engineer known for his innovative and boundary-pushing approach to music production. He has worked with a diverse range of musicians across various genres including rock , indie , pop , hip-hop , and electronica .[ 1]
He has received critical acclaim and multiple Grammys for his outstanding contributions to the music industry. Some notable collaborators include Fiona Apple , Vampire Weekend , Foo Fighters , Sigur Rós , Muse ,[ 2] Foster the People , Swirlies , Sam Fender , and My Chemical Romance . He has occasionally worked as a DJ and musician on the albums as well.[ 3] He is managed by René Symonds at Tap Mgmt[ 4]
Costey operates out of a residential studio on a sprawling 400-acre estate in southern Vermont [ 5] providing artists with a unique recording environment. He regularly works from studios in both Los Angeles and London , where he typically spends several months of the year.
