Butters a main character? Why is Butters placed at the top of this template along with Kyle, Stan, Eric, and Kenny? Butters is a recurring character, not a main one. It could be argued that Chef has appeared in more episodes than Butters - so why isn't he in the main character list too? I think that the main character list should consist only of the 4 characters mentioned above. If anyone has arguments as to why Butters needs to be listed as a main character, I would be interested in reading them. Rishodi 04:58, 18 September 2006 (UTC) There are many reasons why he is a main character rather than a recurring one. Firstly, he appears much more than any of the characters in the recurring characters section of the template. A lot more is written about him too than most of the other characters' articles on Wikipedia. Also, there is a large number of episodes where Butters is prominent, especially in recent years. This is because Butters only became a main character several years after the show started. For example, since the start of season 8, Butters has been prominent in "Good Times with Weapons", "AWESOM-O", "Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset", "Marjorine" amongst others. It can be argued that he is just as important if not more so than Kenny in recent years when a comparison is made between the number of recent episodes that they're prominent in. Watch37264 20:23, 10 October 2006 (UTC) Plus, don't forget about the episode, "The Butters Show". --Yancyfry jr 04:33, 13 October 2006 (UTC) ---So is Pip a main character? Is Towelie a main character? Are Terrance and Phillip main characters? -Rowsdower45 23:46, 5 November 2006 (UTC) Plus, he replaces Kenny in the season that Kenny stayed dead until the end. He made up the four characters, so he's completely justified as being there.Lincalinca 23:59, 15 October 2006 (UTC) Please discuss changes here if anyone does not think he is a main character. I have just put Butters back in as a main character after he was removed. Watch37264 15:33, 18 October 2006 (UTC) But he only acted as Kenny's replacement for six episodes, after which he was replaced by Tweek. Are we going to include Tweek as a main character? (Are we, by the way, going to change the South Park page to read "follows the adventures of five grade school boys?") By this logic Mr. Garrison is a main character, and Chef is a main character and Ms. Cartman is a main character. OK, so Butters recurs more than other recurring characters-- the number of episodes he appears in doesn't make him a main character. I have an idea: let's not take it upon ourselves to arbitrarily decide who's a main character and who's simply recurring. Let's just leave it with the four central characters who have been with the show its entire run (remember Kenny possessing Cartman? he was still in the show even after his "permanent" death) and who are featured most prominently and frequently on SP promotional material. Rowsdower45 23:42, 5 November 2006 (UTC) Oh for fucks sake, stop getting so pedantic about it. Yes, Butters IS a main character now. Thank you, the end, good bye (until I have to return to correct the likely Los Angeles peoples comments). Naming changesIs it possible to make people name their changes so that they can't just change something that justifies it? I can't for the life of me track what's actually been done in this template. When did the South park political parties get taken out? I don't care, but there's no note of it and I have to scour through to find it. That's stupid. Please can people start noting what they're changing? Thanks! Lincalinca 23:59, 15 October 2006 (UTC) I completely agree. It is a Wikipedia guideline for users to fill in the edit summary to say what they have changed. Watch37264 18:56, 16 October 2006 (UTC) Ending After 12 Seasons?According to CNN South Park's contract ends after its 12th season. I was just wondering if that should be put onto the page or not?68.45.82.70 21:44, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Align group headings leftI think the group headings should be aligned left for uniformity. It looks weird to have them sort of jagged jutting in and out like that without align left formatting. Cirt (talk) 03:10, 12 December 2007 (UTC).
Books and popular cultureI from the UK so I might not fully appreciate the significance these, but it seems to me that "South Park Conservatives" and (especially) "South Park Conservatives" aren't topics weighty enough to appear in this category index. Neither of them are exactly canonical. Any thoughts? (Rob (talk) 18:13, 26 July 2009 (UTC)) Chocolate Salty BallsShouldn't "Chocolate salty balls" appear under "Media Releases" rather than "Themes"? (Rob (talk) 18:13, 26 July 2009 (UTC)) WikiBooks in NavApparently, there is some disagreement over the linking of the WikiBooks version of each article in the Navbox (especially when there is a WikiBooks link in the Toolbox on the left side of every page.
