Achacachi Umasuyus aimara jauntxoen hiriburua izan zen, Titicaca lakuaren ekialdean, altiplano peru-boliviarrean.
Testuinguru historikoa
Umasuyus jauntxoen aginpeak lari-laritarrekin muga zuen iparraldean eta paca jaquistarrekin (gizon-arranoak) hegoaldean. Inka Inperioak inbaditu zuenean, umasuyustarrak aurka borrokatu ziren. Hori dela eta, oraindik aimaraz hitz egiten dute (jaya mar aru = aintzinako hizkuntza), eta ez kitxuaz, inken gainontzeko herrialdeetan ez bezala.

Achacachi 1826ko urtarrilaren 24an sortu zen, hiriburu administratibo gisan. Herri hori berez aurretik bazegonez, dekretuak haren existentzia antzematen du.
