Muḥammad I-ren ohaidea zen Ailok, haren al-Munḏir semea izan zuen, zeina denbora-tarte motz batez emirra (886-888) izan zen. Ailo emakume kristaua zen, iparraldekoa; agian (gaur egungo logika geografikoaren arabera) Gaztela, Leoi edo Euskal Herrikoa. Muḥammadek behintzat emazte legitimo bat zeukan, Umm Salama, zeina bere lehentasunezko lehengusina zen, gainera. Umayyadeko gobernu-buruek, haien seme-alabak emakume esklaboekin izaten zituzten arren, emazte legitimoak ere izan zituzten. Sistema bikoitz hau ulertzeko, ezkontzak eta ugalketak helburu desberdinak dituztela aitortzea beharrezkoa da[1].
