Akromatopsia, bastoien monokromatismo bezala ere ezagutzen dena, bost afekziorekin zerikusia duten sintomak dituen sindrome medikoa da, horien artean monokromatismoa nabarmentzen delarik. Historikoki, monokromatismoari oro har egiten zion erreferentzia izenak, baina gaur egun transmisio autosomiko errezesiboaren kolorearen ikusmenaren sortzetiko afekzio bati baino ez dio erreferentzia egiten.
