Ariarates II.a (?-K.a. 280), Kapadoziako erregea, Orofernes I.aren semea eta bere osaba Ariarates I.a erregearen seme adoptiboa zen. Armeniara ihes egin zuen bere aitaordea exekutatua izan ondoren, eta han jarraitu zuen Eumenes Kardiakoa hil zen arte.
K.a. 301ean gertatu zen Ipsoseko guduaren ondoren, Ariarates II.a, Seleuko I.a Nikatorrek Kapadoziako gobernari erdi independente bezala onartu zuen.
Urte batzuk beranduago, K.a. 280an, Orontes III.a Armeniakoaren laguntzarekin, Ariaratesek Amintas garaitu zuen, Antioko I.a Soter erregearen jenerala, Kapadoziaren independentziaren garaia abiaraziz.
