Atbara (arabieraz: نهر عطبرة; translit: Nahr 'Atbarah) Afrikako ipar-ekialdeko ibaia da, Nilora isurtzen den azken ibaiadar handia. Etiopiako ipar-mendebaldean sortzen da, Tana lakutik 50 km iparraldera eta Gondarretik 30 km mendebaldera. 805 kilometroko luzera du eta Sudango Atbara hirian Nilorekin elkartzen da.
Urteko hilabete gehienetan Atbara ibaixka bat besterik ez da eta Nilo ibaiari egiten dion ur ekarpena oso txikia da. Eurite garaian (ekainetik urrira), ordea, uraren maila 5 metro inguru goratzen da. Emari handiena abuztuan izaten du, batez beste 2002,7 m³/s [1], hots, Nilo ibaiak daraman uraren %25.
