August Kopff (Heidelberg, Alemaniar Inperioa; 1882ko otsailaren 5a – Heidelberg, Mendebaldeko Alemania; 1960ko apirilaren 25a) astronomo alemaniarra izan zen, zenbait kometa eta asteroide aurkitu zituena.
Kopffek Heidelbergen ikasi eta lan egin zuen, 1906an doktoretza lortuz. Gero, Berlingo Humboldt Unibertsitatean sartu zen, non Kalkulu Astronomikoaren Institutuko zuzendari bihurtu zen.[1]
Hainbat kometa aurkitu zituen; besteak beste, 22P/Kopff kometa periodikoa eta C/1906 E1 kometa ez-periodikoa.[2] Asteroide batzuk aurkitu zituen ere; besteak beste, 617 Patrokio eta 624 Hektor asteroide troiatarrak.
Kopff ilargi-kraterrak bere izena darama, 1631 Kopff asteroideak bezala.[1] 805 Hormuthia izeneko planeta txikiak ere bere emazteren, Hormuthen, izena darama.
