Azulenoa konposatu organikoa da C10H8 formula duena, hidrokarburo aromatiko poliziklikoen klasekoa. Solido kristalino azula da eta horri zor dio izena. Naftalenoaren isomeroa da[1].
Bere deribatuek ere kolore urdina dute eta hainbat landaretan aurkitzen dira. Adibidez, kamamilak kamazuleno du. Kolore urdineko tinduak kamamilaren destilazioz eskuratu izan dira XV. mendetik hona.
Produkzioa eta sintesia
Azulenoa hainbat landareren olioak destilatuz lor daiteke; hala nola, milorria (Achillea millefolium), mendafina (Mentha X piperita L.) eta lasturrina (Acorus calamus)[2].
Azulenoak duen interes teorikoa medio, hainbat bide sintetiko garatu dira. Horietako interesgarrienetako bat zikloheptatrienoaren eta dikloro zetenaren erreakzioarekin abiatzen da[3].
