Bargello
Bargello terminoa (lehenago Barigello) Erdi Aroko latinetik dator, Barigildus lonbardiar jatorriko terminotik. Barg/Burg termino germanikoarekin lotua dago, bere jatorrizko esanahia "dorre gotortua" edo "gaztelua" delarik.[1]
Italiako Erdi Aroan, bargello kapitain militar bati ematen zitzaion izena zen, eta errebolta-aldietan ordena mantentzeaz arduratzen zen; sarritan, diktadura erako agintera ere pasa zitezkeen hiri batzuetan. Bargello delakoaren pareko izen/funtzio parekideak zituzten, segun eta zein hiritan, Capitano di Giustizia edo Capitano del Popolo izeneko kapitainek.
Florentzian, bargelloa atzerritarren artean aukeratu zuten, beste hiri batetik deituriko jaun bat, Podestà karguen kasuan bezala.[2] Bargello hitza kapitainak egoitzatzat zuen jauregitik zetorren, eta jauregi horietako batzuei Palazzo del Bargello esaten zitzaien, zeintzuek espetxe funtzioa ere izan zuten. Jauregi horien artean zenbait hiritakoak izena gorde dute, baina Florentziakoa bertakoa da ezagunena, jauregiaz gain, Bargello Museoaren egoitza delako. Baina beste hiri batzuetakoak ere hala izendatuak dira, hala nola Gubbio hirikoa edo Perugiakoa.
