Bisera buru-estalki batzuen aurrealdeko hegala da, begiak eguzkitik babesteko funtzioa duena.[1] Batzuetan buruan lotzen den atal independentea izan daiteke.
Beste batzuetan, begiak edo aurpegi osoa kolpeetatik babesteko betekizuna dauka, hala nola, kaskoetan edo armaduretako kasketetan.
Etimologia
Bisera hitza latinezko visus-ik dator, "ikusmena" esan nahi duena.[2]>
