Buka Papua Ginea Berriko uhartea da, Bougainvilleko Eskualde Autonomoko bigarren handiena. Bougainville uhartearen ipar-mendebaldean dago, Bukako itsasarteak bereizia. Geografikoki Salomon uhartediaren zati den arren, ez dago Salomon Uharteak estatuaren barnean. 682,3 kilometro koadroko eremua du[1].
Historia
Uhartea Iparraldeko Salomon uharteen zati izan zen, alemaniar jabetza, Lehen Mundu Gerraren ostean, Australiak administratua izatera pasatu zen arte. 1942an Japoniak okupatu zuen. Uhartetik gertu itsas guduak izan ziren eta sarri airetik erasotua izan zen arren, tropa aliatuek ez zuten inbaditu. Japoniar goarnizioa, Bigarren Mundu Gerra amaitu ondoren errenditu zen.
