Chitral (Urdu: چترال) Chitral ibaian dagoen herria da, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa probintziaren iparraldean, Pakistanen. Behe Chitral Barrutiko hiriburua, eta, aurretik, Chitral Barrutiaren hiriburua izan zen, eta, horren aurretik, Chitral estatuaren hiriburua, 1969 eta 1972 artean desegin eta Mendebaldeko Pakistango unitate administratibo bat bihurtu zuten
Geografia eta klima
Hiriak 1.500 m-ko batez besteko desnibela du.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa distrituko haran hegoaldekoagoen aldean, Chitralek klima mediterraneo lehorra du (Köppen Csa), uda oso beroetan ia prezipitaziorik ez duena. Prezipitazioak, batez ere, mendebaldeko sistema frontalek ekarritako udaberriko trumoi-ekaitzen ondorioz gertatzen dira. Neguan, gaueko tenperatura noizbehinka -10 °C-ra jaisten da. Neguko elurteak nahiko astunak izan daitezke, 60 cm-rainoko metaketa nahiko ohikoa izanik, goialdeetan elurteak 20 metrotara irits daitezke.

2023ko erroldaren arabera, Chitralek 57.157 biztanle zituen.[2]
1981eko erroldaren arabera, khowar da hizkuntza nagusia eta biztanleriaren % 98ak hitz egiten du. Kalasha ere hitz egiten dute, biztanle gutxik baina. Urdua da hiriko hizkuntza ofiziala.[3]
