Chos Malal Neuquén (Argentina) probintziaren iparraldean dagoen hiria da, izen bereko departamenduaren burua.
Toponimia
Bere izena maputxe hizkuntzatik dator eta "korta horia" esan nahi du, harana inguratzen duten muinoetan nagusi den arroka sedimentario motaren (harri lauza) kolore nabarmenaren izen deskribatzailea.
Historia
1887ko abuztuaren 4an sortu zuen Manuel José Olascoaga koronelak "IV División" gotorlekutik, Neuquén Lurraldeko lehen probintzia hiriburua izanik (haren aurretik Ñorquín eta Campana Mahuida gotorlekuak) 1904ra arte, probintziako agintarien egoitza Neuquén hirira eraman zutenean.
Chos Malal-en fundazioak Andeetako mendikatearen bi aldeen arteko abere-bideak kontrolatzeko helburuari eutsi zion, eta kontrabandista eta "abere-lapur" talde bat Varvarco-n kokatutako gotorleku moduko batetik kanporatu eta gutxira egin zen.
Garai hartako Gobernu Etxearen eraikin zaharra gordetzen da.
