Clericó ingelesezko Claret Cup hitzen gaztelaniarazko egokitzapen fonetikoa da. Claret Cup 1800eko hamarkadan britainiarren artean oso ezaguna izan zen koktel edo pontxea da (erabilitako alkoholdun edari proportzioaren arabera). Ingelesdun herrialdeetan ospea galduz joan zen, baina tradizioak Argentina, Paraguai eta Uruguai bezalako herrialdeetan iraun zuen. Clericóa ardo beltzarekin eta fruituekin egiten den edaria da. Hego hemisferioko uda garaian prestatu ohi da, batez ere urte amaierako jaietan (Eguberrian eta Urteberri-egunean).
