Ezaugarriak
XIV. mendeko liburu honek Norvegiako erregeen sagak biltzen dira. AM 45 fol. bezala katalogatuta dago. 1300 - 1325 artean idatzia, 124 orri ditu. Hauek dira jasotzen diren sagak: Heimskringla (Óláfs saga helga izan ezik) eta Hákonar saga Hákonarsonar.[1]; dena dela, teoria batzuen arabera, Norvegian osoa idatzi zela esan izan da.[2]
Kodexa Bergenen, 1550an aurki izan zen eta handik 1600 aurretik Danimarkara eraman zen, Otto Friis bildumagileak erosita; hortik datorkio izena. Ondoren Estatuko Kontseilaria edo etatsråd zen Jens Rosenkrantz eskuetara heldu zen. 1695an Árni Magnússonk erosi zuen; hil zenean kodexa Kopenhageko Unibertsitateak emaitza bezala jaso zuen.
