Cowgate, eskozieraz: Cougait, Eskoziako Edinburgh hiriburuaren erdigunean dagoen kale bat da, hain zuzen ere Edinburgheko Hiri Zaharran dago. George IV Bridge zubiak gainetik igarotzen du.

Historia
1428an azaltzen da lehen aldiz Cowgate izena eta 1498an Via Vaccarum izena ematen zaio, izan ere merkatu egunetan bertatik sartzen baitziren behiak Royal Mileko merkatura.
1581ean Georg Braun eta Frans Hogenberg-ek beren Civitates orbis terrarum lanean diote Cowgaten zeudela familia aberatsenen jauregiak, baina XVIII mendearen erdialdetik aurrera hiriko alde pobreenetakoa zen.
