Etimologia
Irlanderazko Inis Córthaidh izenak "Corthaidhen uhartea" edo "haitzen uhartea" esanahiak izan ditzake.
Historia
465ean populatua zegoenez, Irlandan jarraian luzaroen populaturik egon den herrietako bat da. 1205ean anglo-normandiarrek Enniscorthy gaztelua eraiki zuten. Cronwellen gerratan eta 1798ko matxinadan borroka latzak izan ziren gaztelua eskuratu nahian.
