Equus Equidae familiako ugaztun perisodaktilo genero bat da. Zaldiak, astoak, onagroak eta zebrak genero honetakoak dira. Bere familian bizirik dagoen genero bakarra da, baina, historian zehar, beste genero batzuk ere izan dira. Izena latinetik dator, eta "zaldi" esan nahi du.
