Errebala (arabieraz: رَبَض, rabaḍ, andalustar arabieraz «arrabáḍ» bilakatu eta hortik dator hitza) hirietan, bazterreko auzoa da.[1] Erdi Aroan, Europako hirien hazkundearen ezaugarria izan zen, harresiz kanpoko berezko hiri-eraketa jaio zen.[2] Harresi edo hesi berriak eraikitzeak, udal perimetroa handitzeko, antzinako errebalak hirian auzo bezala sartzea eragiten zuen.
Euskal Herrian ere hiribilduetako harresietatik kanpoko errebalak izan ziren, kaletegian edo memorian izen hori gorde dutenak gerora, hala nola San Nikolas eta Ibeni errebalak Bilbo, Ibarrako Errebala Eibarren edo San Fausto errebala Elorrion.
