Etai edo Itai zentzu zehatzik gabeko hitz edo formula bat da, abestien leloetan betegarri agertzen dena euskaraz[1].
Euskarazko idatzizko testigantza zaharrenetarikoetan agertzen da. Bernart Etxepareren Linguae Vasconum Primitiae-n: Etai lelori bai lelo, pota franko, berzia bego. Eta Lazarragaren eskuizkribuan, itai forman: Itai lelo, ibai lelo, / etxean arai leloa[1].
