Famara mendigune bat da Lanzarote uhartean, Kanarietan, Espainian, eta bere azpian dagoen hondartza.
Kokalekua
Uhartearen iparraldean dago, Teguise eta Haría udalerrietan, 23 km luze da eta jatorri bolkanikoa du. Mendigunearen eta uharte osoaren punturik altuena Chache Haitzak dira, 671 metroko altitudearekin. Mendebaldeko isurialdetik itsaslabarra osatzen du Famarako hondartzaren eta Ozeano Atlantikoaren gainean. Iparralderago César Manrique artistaren Mirador del Río dago. Bertan La Graciosa uhartea eta Chinijo uhartedia ikus daitezke. Famarako hegietan hegaztientzako babes bereziko eremua dago.
Famarako hegietan Elurretako Ama Birjinaren ermita dago, Lanzarote uharteko zaindari historikoa.[1]
Hondartza
Famara bezala, mendigunearen azpian dagoen hondartza ere ezagutzen da, El Jableko iparraldeko muga dena, Lanzaroteko erdigunera sartzen den eremu hareatsua.[2] Kostaldean haize alisioak nagusi direnez, tenperaturak uharteko beste leku batzuetan baino apalagoak dira, eta uretako kirolak bultzatu ditu, hala nola surfa.
Hondartzaren hegoaldeko muturrean dago Caleta de Famara herria. 1.073 biztanle ditu.[3]
Fauna
Valle Grande aztarnategia du inguruan. Bertan, hegan egiterik ez zuten hegaztien arrautzak aurkitu dituzte, baina oraindik ez dira ezagunak.[4]
