Glukagoia[1] 29 aminoazido dituen hormona peptidikoa da, gluzidoen metabolismoan jarduten duena. Bere pisu molekularra 3.485 daltonekoa da, eta 1923an aurkitu zuten John Charles Kimball eta Murlin zientzialariek. Pankreako Langerhansen uhartetxoetako alfa zelulek jariatzen dute.

Organismoak odolean glukosa gehiago behar duenean glukagoiaren sintesia areagotzen du. Adrenalina hormonaren jarduera glukagoiaren antzekoa da, glukosaren kontzentrazioa odolean ere igotzen baitu.
