Halmahera, lehenago Gilolo deitua, Indonesiako uhartea da, Molukak uhartediko handiena. Administratiboki, Ipar Molukak probintziaren barnean dago. 17.780 kilometro koadroko eremua du, eta 2010ean 449.938 biztanle zituen[1]. Hiri handiena Tobelo da. Historia
Halmaheraren historia, gertu dituen Ternate eta Tidore uharteenarekin lotuta dago, biak askoz txikiagoak eta mendebaldeko kostaldean daudenak. Bigarren Mundu Gerran, japoniar base bat egon zen Kao Bayn. 1999-2000 bitartean, liskar handiak izan ziren uharteko musulman eta kristauen artean[2].
