Halofilo
Halofiloa (grezieratik halos, "gatza" eta filo "zalea") ingurune gazian hazten den bizidunari deritzo.
Halofiloak organismo estremofiloak dira, hots, muturreko bizi-baldintzetan hazteko gai dira. Izan ere, halofiloak lurzoru gazietan, gatzagan, ur gazikaretan eta janari gazietan (bakterioen kasuan) bizi ahal izaten dira.
Presio osmotikoa dela eta, ingurune gazi batean bizidun baten zelulak hiltzen dira deshidratazioarengatik, zelula barneko urak kanpora ateratzeko joera baitu. Organismo halofiloek, aldiz, hainbat ezaugarri fisiologikori esker ez dute urik galtzen horrelako inguruneetan.
Halofiloen artean landare batzuk daude, baina talde honetako bizidunik esanguratsuenak bakterioak eta arkeoak dira. Mikroorganismo halofiloak bi kategorietan bana daitezke:
- halotoleranteak: ingurune gazietan bizi daitezkeenak
- halofilo hertsiak: bizi ahal izateko ingurune gaziak derrigorrez behar dituztenak
Mikrobiorik halofiloenak arkeo halofiloak dira (Halobacterium, Halococcus...), gatz-kontzentrazio oso altuenetan (NaCl %25ean) ongi moldatzen direnak. Bakterioen artean Vibrio, Staphylococcus eta Micrococcus generokoak, besteak beste, aipa daitezke.
