Hope Sandoval (Los Angeles, AEB, 1966ko ekainaren 24a - ) pop eta rock abeslari eta kantautore estatubatuarra da. Mazzy Star taldeko abeslaria izan zen eta ondoren Hope Sandoval & the Warm Inventions taldea sortu zuen[1]. Hainbat artistarekin kolaborazioak egin ditu, aipagarrienak Massive Attack britainiarrekin egindakoak 2010ean eta 2016an[2].
Biografia
Hope Sandoval Los Angelesen jaio zen mexikar emigranteen familia batean. Mark Keppel High Schoolean ikasle bazen ere sarritan etxean gelditzen zen diskoak entzuten[3]. 13 urte zituela Rolling Stones taldearen zalea zen[4].
1986an Sylvia Gomezekin Going Home bikotea sortu zuen eta maketa bat bidali zioten David Robacki. Robackek eta Kendra Smithek Mazzy Star rock taldea osatzen zuten eta Smithek taldea uztea erabaki zuenean Hope Sandovalek hartu zuen haren tokia[1]. 1990an atera zuten aurreneko diskoa, She Hangs Brightly, baina arrakasta bigarrenarekin iritsi zitzaien, So Tonight That I Might See (1993) izenekoarekin. Hirugarren disko bat atera eta atsedenaldia hartzea erabaki zuten.
2000. urtean Hope Sandovalek bakarkako bideari ekin zion. The Warm Inventions taldea bildu zuen inguruan eta Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions izenarekin bi disko atera zituen[5].
2011n Mazzy Star taldea osatu zuten berriz eta 2013an disko berria atera zuten, Seasons of Your Day. Ez zuen jarraipenik izan David Roback gaixotu egin baitzen. 2020ko otsailaren 24an minbiziak jota hil zen Roback[6].
2016an Hope Sandovalek bakarkako bideari berrekin zion Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions taldearekin[7]. Kontzertuak ia ilunpetan ematen ditu, atzetik jotzen dion argi xehe batek soilik lagunduta[8].
