Inklings talde literario britaniarra izan zen. Partaide gehienak Oxfordeko Unibertsitatearekin lotuta zeuden eta sinismen kristauak zituzten. Taldearen bilkurak 1930eko hamarkada hasieran hasi zen hirurogeiko hamarkada arte; izan ere, taldearen urte aberatsenak 1949 arte iraun zuen.[1] Literatura zale porrokatuak ziren eta narratibari eta fikzioari balore berezia ematen zieten. Fantasiazko literatura bultzatu zuten.

Ohiturak eta bilerak

Taldea toki desberdinetan joan zen biltzen. 1949 arte, ostegunetan, afaldu ondoren Lewisen geletan biltzen zen, Oxfordeko Unibertsitatearen Magdalen Collegen. Bilkura horietan filosofia eta literaturari buruz hitz egiten zuten edo norberak egindako testuak irakurtzen zuten. Bilera horietan, esaterako, Tolkienen Eraztunen Jauna edo Charles Williamsen All Hallows' Eve lehen aldiz aurkeztu ziren. Dena dela, bilerak ez ziren oso formalak eta bazegoen txantxetarako lekua. Denborarekin beste lokaletan ere bildu ziren: astearteetan, eguerdian, Oxfordeko Eagle and Child pubean. Geroago ere kale bereko beste pub batera hasi ziren joaten, Lamb & Flag.
Taldea oso informala zen: ez zegoen ez araurik ezta estatuturik ere.[2]
