Izar-mapa
Izar-mapa edo izar-atlasa, gauean ikusgarri diren objektu astronomikoen (izar, konstelazio, galaxia, planeta eta ilargi) errepresentazio kartografikoa da.[1] Izar mapak giza historiaren lehen migrazio mugimenduetatik erabili dira nabigatu eta orientatu ahal izateko.[2] Gaur egungo mapak Lurretik zein espaziotik eskuraturiko argazki bidez osatzen dira, latitude eta longitude geografikoen antzeko koordenada sistema batean oinarriturik. Ordea, historiaren parte handi batean mapak, begiz edo astrolabio[3] zein planisferio tresna bidez aztertu dira. Ez dira izar mapak katalogo astronomikoekin konfunditu behar, azken hauek argizkien zerrenda edo tabulazioa baitira, elkarrekin taldeka daitezkeenak ezaugarri komun bat dutenean.[4]
