Izena
Latinezko Lunaria izenak "ilargi itxurakoa" esan nahi du, fruituek (silikeek) duten itxuragatik. Euskaraz, Judas lore deritze, fruituek txanpon itxura baitute, Juda Iskarioteren txanponen istorioari aipamen eginez. Horregatik ere deitzen zaie medaila ("domina") edo pezetak (Espainiako antzinako dirua).
