Karazene (Antzinako grezieraz: Χαρακηνή, latinizaturik: Characene), Mesene (Μεσσήνη) edo Meshan izenez ere ezaguna, Hispaosines Iraniarrak sortutako erresuma bat izan zen, Persiar golkoaren buruan kokatua, gehienbat egungo Iraken barruan. Bere hiriburua, Karax Spasinou (Χάραξ Σπασινού), garrantzizko portu bat zen Mesopotamiaren eta Indiaren arteko merkataritzarako, eta gainera portu-zerbitzuak eskaintzen zizkion Karun ibaiaren goialdean zegoen Susako hiriari. Erresuma sarritan Partiar Inperioaren menpeko estatu bat izan zen. Karazene batez ere arabiarrez populatua zegoen, eta haien hizkuntza kulturala aramera zen. Printzerriaren agintari guztiek izen iraniarrak zituzten. Artsazestar dinastiako kideek ere estatua gobernatu zuten.[1][2][3][4]
