Kayes[1] (bamanankanez: Kayi, soninkeraz: Xaayi) Mali mendebaldeko hiria eta izen bereko eskualdearen hiriburua da. Senegal ibaiaren bazterrean dago, Bamakotik 510 km ipar-mendebaldera. 2009an 127.368 biztanle zituen.[2]
Klima
Kayesko klima oso beroa da. Hori dela eta, hiria «Afrikako presioko eltzea» dela esaten da. Urteko batez besteko tenperatura maximoa 36,3 °Ckoa da, eta apirila-maiatzean 41 °Ctik gorakoa. Urtaro euritsua ekainetik urrira bitartekoa da.
