Lagatzu Zamudioko Euskara Elkarte bat da. 1998ko abenduan Bai Euskarari kanpainaren baitan antolatu ziren hainbat elkarte, alderdi eta euskaltzale. Hortik jaio zen Lagatzu. Gaur egun Zamudioko gehiengoa euskalduna da, %48a euskalduna eta beste % 15a ia-euskalduna, hala ere euskeraren erabilpena urria da kalean eta egoera honek Lagatzuren kezka sortu zuen.
Taldearen helburu nagusia Zamudion euskararen normalkuntza lortzeko eragilea izatea da eta herriko esparru guztietan euskara erabilia izan dadin lortzea, arreta berezia bertako hizkerari jarriz. Horretarako esparru hauek lantzen dituzte:
- Gune euskaldunak sortu.
- Zaharren euskeraren transmisioa.
- Bizitzako funtzioetan euskeraren erabilera berreskuratu.
