Lejre Danimarkako Seelandia eskualdeko udalerria da. 2007. banaketa administrabo berria egiterakoan Bramsnæs eta Hvalsø herriekin batuta gelditu zen Lejre udalerri berria osatuz. Udaletxea Kirke Hvalsø herrian dago. Erabat nekazal eremua da.
Historia
Norvegiera zaharrean Hleiðra izena izan zuen. XII. mendeko Chronicon Lethrense liburuan idatzia dagoenez, bikingoen Burdin Aroko Lejreko erresumaren hiriburua izan zen, II mendearen inguruan. Skjöldung dinastiako erregeek agintzen zuten gerora ertaroko Danimarka sortuko zuen dinastia berak. Beowulf poema epikoan aipatzen den Heorot herria izan daitekeela pentsatzen da.

- Lejreko Zentru Esperimentala (danieraz Sagnlandet Lejre): 1964. urtean eraikitako aire libreko museoa da. Bertan Burdin Aroko herrixka bat (II mendea), bikingoen garaiko herria (900. urtea) eta Harri Aroko (5000. urtea k.a.) asentametua daude ikusgai besteak beste.
