Marmaris Turkiako kostaldeko herri eta opor-lekua da. Turkiako hego-mendebaldean dagoen Muğla probintzian dago koaktuta eta turismoa da diru-sarrera nagusia.
1980. hamarkadan eraikuntza masiboa hasi zen eta gaur egun gutxi geratzen da Marmaris XX. mendera arte izandako herri lasaiaz. 2010. urtean herriak 30.957 biztanle zituen, 300.000 eta 400.000 biztanleraino igoz goi-denboraldian.
Bi kirol-portu daude bertan, arrantzatzeko eta urpekaritzarako gune ezaguna baita.
