Orrazi
Orrazia zurezko, hezurrezko, bolizko, eta abarrezko tresna da, hortz mehe eta sarriez osatua, ilea bereizteko eta apaintzeko erabiltzen dena[1].
Lehen kareizkoak baziren ere, dortoka horren ehiza galarazi zutenean plastikozkoak edo zurezkoak egiteari ekin zioten. Funtsean hiru mota ezberdinak daude:
- Hortz zabaleko orraziak, ile asko dituzten adatsak orrazteko erabiltzen dutenak.
- Hortz meharreko orraziak, ile bustita orrazteko erabiltzen dutenak.
- Orrazi mistoak, hortz mehe eta zabalak dituztenak.
Musika tresna moduan ere erabiltzen dute. Arkeologoek topaturiko tresnarik zaharrenetariko bat da,[2] duela 5000 urteko persiar aztarnategian topatuak ere izan direnak.
Mitologian eta herri kondairetan
Orrazia hainbat mitologiatan agertzen den objektua da, hala nola euskal kondairatan Mari[3] eta laminen kontakizunetan,[4] Irlandako folkloreko Banshee andrearen elezaharretan, eta errusiar Rusalkarekin lotuta.[5] Europako arte erromanikoan, emakumezko irudiak orrazi eta ispiluarekin ager daitezke, eta ikerlarien ustez, lizunkeria irudikatzen dute.[6]
