Palmas Atea edo gaztelaniaz Porta de Palmas, antzinean Puerta Nueva edo Ate Berria, Badajoz hiriko atea zen eta, egun, monumentu ezagunetariko bat da. Badajoz hiriko harresien sarrera bat zen. 1551an ireki zen.
Kokapena
Guadiana gainean dagoen Palmasko zubiaren aurrean dago. Inguruko harresiak bota egin ziren.[1]
Deskribapena
Ateak arku konmemoratiboa eta bi dorre zilindrikoak ditu. Kanpoko fatxadan erdi puntuko arkua du, Karlos Habsburgokoaren armarriarekin hornituta. Barruko aldean Ama Birijinari eskainitako kapera dago. Dorreak errege-espetxe moduan erabili ziren XIX. mende amaiera arte.[2]
