Paruma Andeetako mendilerroan, Boliviaren eta Txilen arteko mugan dagoen geruza-sumendi bat da. Beste hainbat geruza-sumendiren lerro baten zati da. Paruma sumendi-lerroaren ekialdeko muturrean dago, Olca sumendia mendebaldean duela. Paruma aktiboa izan zen Holozenoan, laba isuri morfologikoki gazteak zituen hegaletan. Fumarola iraunkorrak ere baditu. Laba jario jakin batek 7 kilometro hartzen du Parumako hego-ekialdera. Sumendiaren azken jarduera ezaguna 1865 eta 1867 urteen artean hegaletako batean izandako erupzioa izan zen.
