Pexmerga
Pexmerga[1] (kurdueraz: Pêşmerge, pɛʃmærˈɡæ ahoskatua, "heriotzari aurre egiten dutenak") kurduek bere borrokalariei ematen dieten izena da. Kurdistango pexmergak 1920ko hamarkadaren hasieran sortu ziren, Otomandar eta Qajar inperioaren aurkako independentzia mugimenduarekin batera.
Pexmerga gudarosteek emakumeak dituzte bere barnean.[2] Eskualdeko gudarosterik eraginkorrenetariko bat izan dira, bere etnia eta erlijiokideak ez direnak ere babestuz. Irakeko Gerran Saddam Hussein atxilotzeko misioetan parte hartu zuten, baita Osama bin Ladenen mezularia zen Hassan Ghulen atxiloketan ere.[3]
Irakeko Kurdistango Gobernuak pexmerga izendatu zituen bere indar armatuak.[4]
