Piccoloa[1] (euskaraz: «txiki») zurezko haize-instrumentua da, zehar txirula, oboea, klarinetea, fagota, saxofoia eta korno ingelesa bezala. Azpifamilia zehar txirularena du, azken hau bezala jotzen baita. Ez da mihi bakarrekoa, klarinetea eta saxofoia bezala, ezta mihi bikoitzekoa ere, oboea, korno ingelesa eta fagota bezala. Aldiz, mutur batean, zulotxo bat du, interpretatzaileak haizea bertatik bota dezan. Bere erregistroa, zehar txirularena baino altuago heltzen da.
