San Pedro de Pimampiro, edo Pimampiro ere deitua, Imbabura probintziaren ekialdean dagoen Pimampiro kantonamenduko hiri nagusia da. Ibarrako ipar-mendebaldean dagoen hiri-parrokia da, goi-haran txiki batean kokatua, Chota ibaiaren arroaren hegoaldeko ibaiertzaren gainean. Ezaugarri topografiko nahiko lauak eta izurtuak ditu.[1]
Pimampiro 1981eko maiatzaren 21ean sortu zen Kantonamendu bezala, Jaime Roldoss Aguileraren Gobernuak legearen arabera zigortzen zuen Legegintza Dekretu bidez. Hiri nagusia Pimampiro parrokia izan zen.[2] Mestizoak, indigenak eta afroekuadortarrak dira bertako biztanleak.
