Pontzel
Pontzel terminoa (gaztelaniaz: doncel) Behe Erdi Aroko Gaztelako monarkiaren gorte-ofizio baten izena zen. Zaldun oraindik armatu gabeko familia nobleetako gazteen ardurapean zegoen; morroi edo erregearen edo koroaren oinordekoaren laguntzaile gisa aritzen zen pontzela. Ondoren, gorputz militar berezi baten partaide bihurtzen ziren.
Pontzel ospetsuen artean Martín Vázquez de Arce dugu, Sigüenzako katedralean dagoen hilobiaren protagonista, Pontzelaren hilobia alegia.[1]
Etimologia
Euskaltzaindiaren Orotariko Euskal Hiztegiak pontzela forma jasotzen du, iturrien artean Pierre Lhanderen hiztegia aipatuta. Adiera berdinarekin jasotzen du Lhandek emakumeentzat zein gizasemeentzat (pucelle, vierge eta puccau, qui n’a pas connu de femme). [2]
