Rakvere (antzina Wesenberg edo Wesenbergh alemanez) Estoniako iparraldeko hiria da, Lääne-Viru konderriko hiriburua, Finlandiako golkotik 20 km hegoaldera. Azken zentsuaren arabera 15.695 biztanle zituen. Vallimägi muinoaren gainean dagoen harrizko gaztelu historikoagatik da ezaguna. 1226a baino lehen eraiki zen, antzinako vironiarren gotorlekua zegoen tokian. Rakverek 1302ko ekainaren 12an lortu zuen hiri-estatutua. Arvo Pärt konpositoreak haurtzaroa igaro zuen Rakveren.
