Romaneskoa[1] (Brassica oleracea var. botrytis) Brassica oleracea espezietik eratorritako barazkietako bat da, azalore barietate bat. Batzuetan romanesco aza, romanesco azalorea edo romanesco brokolia[2] ere esaten zaio.
Historia
Romaneskoa Italian dokumentatu zen lehen aldiz XVI. mendean Erromako eskualdean eta XIX. mendean broccolo romanesco izena eman zitzaion. Bai laborantza bai kontsumoa oso berriki hedatu dira mundu osoan.
Ezaugarriak
Familia honetako espezie guztiak bezala, C bitaminan, zuntz dietetikon, potasioan, fosforoan, azido folikoan eta karotenoideetan aberatsa da. Lurrunetan edo uretan egosia jan ohi da, baina gordinik ere jan daiteke.
Bere ezaugarririk deigarrienetako bat bere egitura geometrikoa da: romaneskoa osatzen duen infloreszentzia kopurua Fibonacci zenbaki bat da. Gainera, bere geometria autoantzekoagatik sarritan geometria fraktal naturalaren adibidetzat ematen da.
