Spyware
Spyware ordenagailutik informazio pertsonala internetetik transmititzen duen softwarea da, erabiltzaileak jakin edo onespena eman gabe. Software mota hau ez dute antibirus programek detektatzen eta horregatik behar dira SpyBoot motako softwareak.
Cookie-en eragina
Interneteko orrialde askok, erabiltzaileak identifikatzeko, euren disko gogorretan testu fitxategi txiki bat gordetzen dute. Publizitate enpresek erabiltzailearen ordenagailuan cookie-ak gordetzen dituzte euren nabigatzailean banner bat kargatzen den aldioro. Cookie horrek GUID (Globally Unique Identifier) bat baldin badauka, enpresak erabiltzaileak bisitatzen dituen eta bere banner-ak dituzten orrialde guztiak ezagutu ditzake.
Gehienetan espioi softwarea beste programa bat instalatzerakoan sartzen da. Erabiltzailearen lizentzian pribatutasunari buruzko erreferentziaren bat egoten da, baino beti hizki txikietan, erabiltzaile gehienek irakurri gabe hori onartzeko.
SpyBot
