Surtshellir Islandian dagoen leizea da, herrialdeko luzeena. Borgarnes herritik 60 kilometrotara dago.

Historia
Historia luzea du zeren eta Erdi Aroan idatzitako Landnámabók liburua aipatua izan zen. Dena dela, Eggert Ólafsson izan zen leizeari buruzko benetako lan dokumentatua egin zuena; Ólafsson lurraldean 1715ean ibili zen eta orduan ezagutu zuen Surtshellir.[1] Leizearen izena mitologiako Surtr erraldoiarengan oinarrituta dago. Surtrek egun batean bere ezpataren suarekin mundua bukatuko du.[2]
