Biografia
Grabatuei buruz idatzi zuen liburua Ingalaterran inoiz argitaraturiko altzari marrazkien bilduma nagusia da (The Gentleman´s and Cabinet Maker´s Director, 1759-1762). Thomas Chippendalek sorturiko altzari estiloen multzoari Chippendale estiloa deritzo, XVIII. mendearen bukaeran modan egon zena. Hiru iturburu nagusi ditu estilo honek: gotikoa, rococoa eta Txinakoa. Chippendalek trebezia aparta erakutsi zuen hiru estilo horiek harmoniaz elkartzean. Oraindik ere, haren altzariak biziak eta dotoreak dira.
