Uropeltidae izenekoa gorputz zilindriko eta luzanga duten suge familia bat dira, lepoa baino sendoagoa ez den punta zorrotzeko burudunak eta puntarik gabeko isatsa dutenak.
Ezaugarriak
Larruazala esmaltatua dute eta hori, gorri eta beltz koloreak dituzte. Isatsaren muturrean dirudienez euren galeriak zulatzen laguntzeko erabiltzen duten plaka bat eratzen duten ezkatak dituzte, honengandik euren izena datorrelarik, grezieraz "ezkutuzko isatsa" esan nahi duena.
