Valdebaró Kantabriako harana da, Camaleño udalerriarekin bat egiten duena. Deva ibaiak zeharkatzen du, Fuente Dén jaio zenetik Potesen Quiviesa bere ibaiadarrarekin bat egiten duen arte. Historikoki, Valdebaró antzinako Liébanako probintzia osatu zuten haranetako bat izan zen,[1] Argüébanes, Baró, Cosgaya, Espinama, Lon eta Brez, Mogrovejo, Pembes, Santibáñez eta Tanarrio kontzeju edo herriez osatua.
